Typically, in standard SMS communications, the sender and recipient both pay for the SMS messages they send. However, with reverse billing, businesses or organisations sending the SMS campaign cover the costs of the replies to the campaign. These replies are charged at a higher rate than a standard SMS message.
Before activating reverse billing on your account, we recommend that you create a separate BulkSMS account to send your marketing SMS messages. That way, you will cover all costs related to any opt-out replies you get in response to promotional SMS messages.
