Before you start
You need a Pipedrive account and a BulkSMS account with credits.
The connection uses the BulkSMS for Pipedrive app, made by our partner Ulgebra. With it you can:
- Send SMS from any Pipedrive Person, Organization or Deal.
- Send bulk SMS to many contacts at once.
- See the messages sent to each contact in its Notes.
- Let several Pipedrive users share one BulkSMS account.
The app is a paid subscription from Ulgebra, billed separately from your BulkSMS credits. See the Pipedrive Marketplace listing for current pricing.
Install the app
Open BulkSMS for Pipedrive in the Pipedrive Marketplace and click Install now.
Click Allow and Install to authorise the app to use your Pipedrive account.
Create a BulkSMS API token
Log in to your BulkSMS account and go to Settings > Developers.
Click Create API Token and give it a name you'll recognise, for example Pipedrive.
Copy the Token ID and Token Secret and keep them somewhere safe. The secret is only shown once.
The app's settings page also has a Get Here link that takes you to BulkSMS to create the token.
Connect your BulkSMS account
In Pipedrive, click your profile and select Tools and integrations > Marketplace apps.
Click the three dots next to BulkSMS for Pipedrive and select Settings.
Enter your BulkSMS Token ID and Token Secret, then click to authorise your BulkSMS account.
Add a sender
Open the Choose Sender dropdown in the app and select +Add New Sender.
Set the channel type to SMS, enter your BulkSMS Sender Id and a display name, then save.
Click the pin icon next to a sender to make it the default.
Send messages
To one contact
Open a Person, Organization or Deal and choose Send Message - BulkSMS from the dropdown on the right.
Choose the sender and the BulkSMS Route to send on. You can add more recipients with Add Recipients, by number, Pipedrive filter or contact search.
Type your message. Enter # to insert a Pipedrive field, such as the contact's name, or insert a saved template. Then send.
To many contacts
Go to the People, Organizations or Deals list, select the contacts, and choose Send Bulk Message - BulkSMS from the dropdown on the right.
Choose the sender and route, enter your message or a template, and send.
Each sent message is recorded in the contact's Notes in Pipedrive.
Settings for admins
Manage App Users: choose which Pipedrive users can send SMS through your BulkSMS account.
Message templates: use the Templates dropdown and +Add New Template to save messages you send often.
App Usage Analytics: see how the integration is being used.
Reset App Configurations: clears all the app's settings. Type confirm and click Reset.
Troubleshooting
The BulkSMS account won't authorise: check the Token ID and Token Secret, and that the token hasn't been revoked in BulkSMS.
A user can't send: check they've been added under Manage App Users.
Messages aren't sent: check that your BulkSMS account has enough credits and the contact's number has the right country code.
