Before you start
Create a BulkSMS API token
Log in to your BulkSMS account and go to Settings > Developers.
Click Create API Token and give it a name, for example Vodia. Copy the Token ID and Token Secret. The secret is only shown once.
Add BulkSMS as an SMS provider
In the Vodia tenant portal, go to Trunks > SMS Management, open the Providers tab and click Add. Fill it in and click Save:
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Name | Any name, for example BulkSMS |
| Provider | BulkSMS |
| Username | Your Token ID |
| Password / Application Secret | Your Token Secret |
Add your numbers
Still in SMS Management, open the Numbers tab and click Add for each number:
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Number | The number in international format, for example +447700900123. It's sent to BulkSMS exactly as entered. |
| Provider | The BulkSMS provider you just added |
| URL prefix for receiving messages | A short name for the reply address, for example bulksmsinbound |
| Source and Destination | The extensions that send from and receive on this number |
Send replies to Vodia
In BulkSMS, go to Settings > Advanced > Webhooks and create a webhook for received messages.
Set the URL to your phone system's address followed by your URL prefix, for example https://your-pbx-domain.com/bulksmsinbound.
Test it
Send a message from an extension to your own mobile, then reply to it and check the reply arrives in Vodia.
All setup and ready to go!
If you have any questions, please contact our support team. Include your account name and put Vodia in the subject line, and we'll be happy to help.
