Before you start
You need admin access to Vtiger CRM and a BulkSMS account with credits.
BulkSMS isn't built in to Vtiger. An admin adds it once as an SMS connector with Vtiger's Module Designer. Vtiger's developer docs use BulkSMS as their worked example, so the connector code is ready to copy.
Create the BulkSMS connector
In Vtiger, go to Menu > Platform > Module Designer.
Add an extension module with a Connectors resource of type SMS.
Paste the BulkSMS connector definition from Vtiger's SMS Connector docs and publish it. It sends through https://api.bulksms.com/v1/messages and checks delivery status automatically.
Create a BulkSMS API token
Log in to your BulkSMS account and go to Settings > Developers.
Click Create API Token and give it a name, for example Vtiger. Copy the Token ID and Token Secret. The secret is only shown once.
Configure the provider
Go to Settings > Extensions > SMS Provider Configuration and choose the BulkSMS connector.
Enter your Token ID as the Username and your Token Secret as the Password, and save.
Send an SMS to a contact with your own number to test.
Troubleshooting
Messages fail: check the Token ID and Token Secret, that contact numbers are in international format, and that your account has credits.
